Broadway took the threat of the mammoth storm seriously, with theater owners canceling all Sunday evening and Monday performances of shows like The Book of Mormon , Once and Mama Mia! long before a drop of rain fell in Times Square.

"The safety and security of theatre goers and employees is everyone's primary concern," said Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League, which represents producers.

Forecasts called for rain late Sunday or early Monday, and subway and public transportation service is to be halted Sunday evening, potentially stranding theatergoers. Refunds will be made available from the point of purchase.

Off-Broadway shows including Stomp, Bad Jews, Disgraced and Golden Child were also canceled Sunday night. Most matinees on and off Broadway stayed open. Mondays are usually very light on Broadway, with most shows having that as their day off.

Carnegie Hall canceled two concerts scheduled for Sunday night and rescheduled a Monday concert by Rent and Wicked star Idina Menzel, which will now take place Nov. 4.

Some Broadway shows had no evening shows scheduled Sunday, including Cyrano de Bergerac, Annie, Chaplin, Enemy of the People, Once, Jersey Boys and Nice Work If You Can Get It.

It was the most disruptive storm for the theater community since the threat of Hurricane Irene in late August 2011 prompted producers to cancel matinee and evening performances on Saturday and Sunday. While that hurricane mostly fizzled over New York, every show lost money because they were mostly limited to five or six performances that week.

PayPal had been handling legal issues with RBI on its operations in India, since last year. The key restriction on PayPal users from India as imposed by RBI (Reserve Bank of India) was that, they were not allowed to receive amount greater than USD $500 in a single transaction. This dictate of RBI has given Indian online merchants nightmares on how to continue their businesses with so many restrictions.
In a recent announcement from PayPal, it was revealed that the new receiving limit in a single transaction by PayPal users from India was increased from USD $500 to USD $3000.

This move from PayPal and RBI has relieved sevarl exporters of goods and services in India who rely on eBay-owned PayPal to receive payments from clients all around the globe.
The other issues however are intact. To continue using PayPal you’ll need to add your PAN (Permanent Account Number) and Purpose Code. Also, daily withdrawal requirement is still in its place.
We hope that gradually PayPal will sort-out all issues with RBI and provide its users great and speedy experience.

Combining a lithium ion phosphate battery and an on-board petrol engine generator for recharging on the move, the Tata Megapixel offers a range of up to 900 km with a single tank of fuel. With the petrol prices rising to record highs on a regular basis, will Tata put this dream vehicle into production? Only time will tell...

Tata Motors presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show the Tata Megapixel, a new four-seater city-smart global range extended electric vehicle (REEV) concept for the performance-seeking and environment-conscious motorist anywhere in the world.

Combining a lithium ion phosphate battery and an on-board petrol engine generator for recharging on the move, the Tata Megapixel offers a range of up to 900 km (with a single tank of fuel), path-breaking CO2 emission of just 22 gm / km and fuel economy of 100 km / litre (under battery only power).

The class-leading ‘Zero Turn’ drive system of the Tata Pixel (shown at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show) has been taken to an even higher level of manoeuvrability in the Tata Megapixel.

The car’s electric drive has four independent electric motors, one at each wheel. When parking, the electric hub motors drive the wheels in opposite directions, while the front wheels are turned at an acute angle, enabling an exceptional 2.8 metre turning radius.

The at-home charging system is an as innovative induction charging system. The car has simply to be parked over the induction pad for charging to begin.

The Tata Megapixel is as distinctive in elegantly melding Indian uniqueness – in colours, graphic themes or materials – with global styling preferences.

The integrated lamp and grille graphics sweep back over the front wheel arches to render a dynamic front end.

The common belief that people should drink eight glasses or two litres of water a day is a ‘myth’ that needs debunking, a Melbourne academic says.

The new Australian recommendations suggest that an adequate daily fluid intake is about 2.8 litres for women and 3.4 litres for men.

However, this includes fluid found in food and beverages.

La Trobe University lecturer Spero Tsindos said that people could get their daily fluid intake from fruit, vegetables, juices and even tea and coffee.

“If you’re feeling thirsty then drink by all means a beverage. It doesn’t have to be water”, Tsindos was quoted as writing in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health.

“I’m not saying you shouldn’t drink water. I’m saying the need to drink two litres of water on a regular basis is a complete myth.”

“We should be telling people that beverages like tea and coffee contribute to a person’s fluid needs and despite their caffeine content, do not lead to dehydration”, Tsindos said.

He said that drinking a large quantity of water in one sitting to reach the daily intake level was pointless because it would not be distributed where it was needed. It would just dilute the urine.

Drinking large amounts of water to lose weight would not work either without a low-calorie diet, he emphasised.

“There is further evidence that water and a well-balanced diet do far more than water alone”, Tsindos wrote.

“Water is important for health, however, the recommendation of eight glasses of pure water a day appears an overestimation of requirements”, he said.

The “eight glasses a day” notion may have stemmed from guidelines published in the US in 1945, Tsindos wrote.
The National Academy of Sciences had recommended that about 2.5 litres of water should be consumed daily.

For the first time in its history, students from schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education [CBSE] will get a chance to participate, express their opinion and give inputs during their periodic meetings. The Course Committees constituted for major subjects will now have a student representative.

CBSE for the first time since its inception, has included a student nominee in its Course Committees. CBSE has Course Committees for all its courses including vocational subjects. Each committee is reconstituted every three years. The committee discusses, debates, collects various inputs and ideas related to subject disciplines and reviews them to suit the needs of its students, parents and society.

These students, who have passed out of Class XII in March 2012, based on their performance and in consultation with the schools, are being nominated by CBSE.

CBSE is confident that the student nominees will actively contribute towards the development of its courses. CBSE also considers the involvement of students in framing the syllabus essential, since the nominees will have a clear understanding of the future prospects of the subject alongwith the limitations.

The Course Committee consists of Professors from Universities, experts from National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), teachers and subject experts from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, Private and Public Schools and practising teachers.

‘We wish to make the courses and syllabus more inclusive and application-based. Since, the course and syllabus prepared by Committees is to be followed by students, we will hear their voice. I am sure the inputs given by the students will help designing the courses better,’ said Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE, New Delhi.

Inputs from students, one for each of the major subjects is expected to contribute to various aspects of the particular subject.

The CBSE plans to use these inputs for improving the subject content and syllabus of the concerned courses.

CBSE is keen to understand the trends amongst students regarding the scope of the major subjects it offers as well as their link with the University/vocational degrees in India and abroad. This will help improve the CCE [Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation] – based educational system initiated by the Board.
Actress Sherlyn Chopra, the first Indian girl to pose nude for international magazine Playboy, has bagged a role in 'Kamasutra 3D', to be directed by Rupesh Paul.

"I am glad to have Sherlyn on board. She has the earthiness and sensuality that her character requires. This will be a redefining film of her career," Paul said in a statement.

Paul announced the project at the Cannes Film Festival this year. But Sherlyn has been locked for a key role only recently.

The film is expected to premiere at the prestigious festival in 2013.

Besides Sherlyn, there are two more important characters in the film which might be played by known Bollywood actors. The director didn't give out any more details, but said: "The casting is on and all I can say now is that it is going to be the surprise package of the film".

Finding actors for his film hasn't been a cakewalk for the director.

"I got mixed reactions from the actors that I approached. While a few of them gave me a cold shoulder branding my film as graphic porn, most of them appreciated the bold idea," added Paul.

He strongly defends the association of Kamasutra with porn.

"India is known as a land of Kamasutra. The epic erotica is as significant as Gita or Ramayana. It is not just about sensuality and eroticism. It is a struggle of human mind to understand one of the most important areas of life. It is pathetic to relate this ancient scripture to porn," he said.

"If you go to Paris, every coffee shop will have an abridged version of Kamasutra. The ancient scriptures are read and appreciated by millions of people abroad and we never owned it. It is such a shame," added Paul.

There is another reason why the director has decided to release the film in 2013.

"Indian cinema is completing 100 years in 2013 and an epic film like 'Kamasutra' should release in the same year. The film will do the rounds at various international festivals and it will be in a way celebration of Indian culture also apart from Indian cinema" he says.

The movie's initial trailers, shot by Sapan Narula, will be screened soon in Los Angeles Nov 4 and later at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Earlier, Mira Nair's "Kamasutra: A Tale Of Love", released in 1996, delved on the same subject.

New Delhi: Adequate folic acid and vitamin B intake could help reduce vascular disease risk in Indian patients, a study released here said on Friday.
Conducted by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Jamia Millia Islamia, the study said foods containing vitamin B, like potato, greens, beans and fish and animal products, should be consumed regularly.
“Plasma homocysteine concentrations, responsible for plaque formation that lead to blockage of arteries have a negative relation with vitamin B12 levels in patients with stroke and deep vein thrombosis and with folate levels in patients with coronary artery and cerebrovascular disease,” said the study.
Seema Bhargava, lead author of the study and senior consultant, Department of Biochemistry, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said, “Large-scale corrective measures like food fortification or dietary supplementation with folate and B-12 might benefit the Indian population and reduce the incidence and morbidity of vascular disease.”
“It would be pertinent to suggest that scientists, clinicians and policy-makers in our country should further evaluate the relevance of food fortification with folate and vitamin B12 so as to correct nutritional deficiencies as well as reduce risk for vascular disease — the double benefit for the double burden of disease in the developing countries.”
Rajasthan was the first state in the country to launch a food fortification programme in February, said the study.

3. Bring her face closer and first kiss her lightly on her lips.  If she seems to respond eagerly, slowly part her lips with your lips.

4. Open your eyes to look at her face, if she seems to be enjoying it, gradually make use of your tongue to explore her mouth.

How to kiss a boy

2. Find out some excuse to go to some private place. If he is a colleague, stay behind for work someday while the rest in office leave. If at home go to the terrace with him or some private corner on some pretext.

4. If even now he has not kissed you, go closer and shut your eyes. If he still doesn't then  kiss him on the corner of his mouth.

5. Lean towards him, tilt your head slightly to the left or the right, close your eyes and kiss his lower lip while slightly puckering your lips. Open your mouth slightly and use the tip of your tongue to gently caress his lips.
