Malayalam film industry is at war. Yes !!! This festive season is filled with war of stardom. Theaters along Kerala are filled with superstar movies. And yet a number of movies are due for release. Box office collection reveals that almost all movies are doing well.

It was Dileep’s ‘Mr.Marumakan’ which triggered the celebration on August 18. Then came Superstar Mammootty`s ‘Thappanna’ on August 19 which is still running. ‘Friday’ starringFahad Fazil is aso getting good responses. While Allu Arjun`s ‘Gajapokkiri’ is just about average. Prithviraj`s ‘Simhasanam’ which was directed by Shaji Kailas was a huge disaster in Box Office.

Dileep starrer ‘Mr.Marumakan’ is the top grossing by collecting approximately Rs 2.90 Crores from 72 releasing centres. Mammootty`s ‘Thappanna’ is in second position which released in 80 screens. Reviews reveal that ‘Thappanna’ is better than superstar’s recent releases but quite regular kind of movie with cliché one liners, tamil type fights and average humour.

‘Friday’ directed by debutant Lijin Jose has got a great plot but it is not grossing well in theaters. May be with its release in multiplexes soon, the movie may find better audiences.

In the third position is the much earlier released Romantic Flick ‘Thattathin Marayathu’ which is doing great even better after Ramzan in all releasing theaters. Next is ‘Ustad Hotel’, which continues its dream-run. And at number five is Allu Arjun`s Gajapokkiri, which is nowhere near his earlier releases.

And now everyone is witing for all those due releases. Mohanlal’s ‘Run Baby Run’ is one among them which is directed by Veteran Director Joshiy. It is scripted by Sachi. It is expected to release on 29^th.
